Job Description

A leading logistics and freight forwarding company is seeking a Senior Cloud and Identity Specialist to lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of its cloud and identity infrastructure. The role focuses on Azure-based environments, identity and access management, security governance, and technical leadership within a global IT team.

The successful candidate will play a strategic role in aligning cloud and identity solutions with business and security objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Identity and Access Management

  • Design and optimise identity solutions using Entra ID (Azure AD), Active Directory, Silverfort, and CoreView

  • Implement modern authentication methods including MFA, OAuth, and SAML

Cloud Infrastructure

  • Manage Microsoft Azure environments, including Virtual WAN, ExpressRoute, and API Management

  • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for automated deployments

Security and Governance

  • Enforce Zero Trust security models, RBAC, and Privileged Access Management

  • Manage PKI, SSL certificates, and DNS security

  • Ensure compliance with frameworks such as ISO27001, GDPR, and POPI

Collaboration and Leadership

  • Provide technical mentorship to the Global Cloud team

  • Work closely with stakeholders to align IT strategy with business goals

Modern Workplace and Support

  • Oversee Microsoft 365 and Exchange environments

  • Lead high-level incident resolution and evaluate emerging technologies

Minimum Requirements

  • BSc IT, BTech, or equivalent tertiary qualification

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience as an Infrastructure Specialist in complex IT environments

  • Extensive experience designing and managing Microsoft Azure solutions

  • Expert knowledge of Active Directory, Entra ID, and identity security

  • Proficiency in PowerShell or Python for automation

  • Strong understanding of hybrid networking, firewalls (including Palo Alto), and cloud security controls

  • Experience with Azure Storage, SQL databases, Defender for Cloud, and Azure Backup

Advantageous Skills

  • Experience with Silverfort, CoreView, or AvePoint

  • SQL database management knowledge

  • Familiarity with POPI, GDPR, and ISO27001 compliance standards
